Fast food are always kids' favourite. Foods like burgers, french fries, pizzas, fried chicken and soft drinks are always best friends to kids. As a parent, it is natural that you are definitely concerned if such foods will affect your kids wellbeing, especially in eye care.

Our eyes function similar to our heart. Like our heart, our eyes are also vascular and have a network of blood vessels and capillaries which help them to function. They send nutrients and oxygen to the retina that helps our eyes to stay healthy. Any damages can hinder our vision. Fast foods like pizzas and fries are considered processed foods. They are high in fat which get deposited under your skins and the blood vessels of your eyes. Over a period of time, the blood vessels will deteriorate and will cause vision problems.

Apart from that, fast foods are high in sodium as well. According to some experts, high sodium diets can affect our lens and lead to cataract as we grow older. Also, high salt intake can increase blood pressure which can cause the arteries in the eyes to narrow, like the heart.

Some fast foods are high in sugar and carbohydrates too, for example fizzy drinks for the former and burgers for the latter. Foods with high sugar and carbohydrate levels can lead to increase in blood sugar levels which can cause blurred vision or difficulty in reading. It can even lead to diabetes which can even cause vision problems like cataracts, glaucoma and retinopathy.
