Nanyang Optical, with a rich history dating back to the 1950s. The story took place in a small lens grinding workshop in Geylang road, where our founder began grinding and edging all ophthalmic lenses by hand. Every afternoon, he would began his round by going to all optical shops to collect grinding job back to the workshop. Every piece of finished ophthalmic lenses was grinded with care and precision. The daily rounds in optical shops sparked an interest in our founder, which he makes it his personal interest to supply all customers with quality and clear vision, at affordable price. ​ 

 

Over the years, from a small lens grinding workshop, Nanyang expanded its brand to include optical retail, and design and development of optical frames. Despite its growth, Nanyang never lost sight of its commitment to providing quality vision care at affordable price. ​ 

 

During the 1985 recession, 2007 global financial crisis, and the 2020 Covid-19 crisis, where many businesses struggled to survive, Nanyang Optical continued to thrive thanks to its loyal customer base and reputation for providing quality vision care, entrenching ourselves into the fabric and lives of countless Singaporeans, with the aim to help them see better, look better and feel better. ​
